Looking To Upgrade Even More?

Ensuring that your garage door is in good shape is a great way to keep your bikes safe while you are away or sleeping. A pedestrian door is a good option for those who want to use the garage to exit and enter your home, without having to open and close the garage door completely every time. This is a great way to keep your things safe and secure over time.

Installing a new garage door will ensure that you have photo-cell safety beams on the door itself. This is an important safety feature that has been used on doors since the early 90s. Doors that were installed before 1990 might not have this feature and it could be detrimental. Two photo-cell safety beams are installed at the bottom of each side of the door. One unit emits an infrared beam to the other unit, which is a reflector. This is a safety measure to prevent people from breaking in and taking things from your garage.

If you keep your bikes in a place other than a garage, such as a shed, it’s is recommended that you upgrade the door attached to this space. Perhaps getting a sectional garage door is a better solution. This is a more practical solution for some.

A top notch garage door should be insulated so that weather does not affect the temperature inside the garage. R-Value is the measurement of thermal resistance within a garage. Overall, it measures the resistance to the flow of heat within the space. The larger the R number the better the thermal insulation on the door. Weatherstripping and insulation can also help to protect from condensation.

Getting a new garage door altogether also makes the area look great. If your garage door is old and in need of an upgrade, consider getting a new on entirely.
